Barbara is a dynamic vocalist, composer, and actor who is constantly working on new material. She sings with a fresh style that holds your attention and doesn’t beckon for comparisons. Her diverse background includes performances in clubs, on the stage, television and in the recording studio. Born in upstate New York, Barbara began singing as a young child in church choirs and in school performances. She then went on to study voice at University of Buffalo. After college she studied acting with Uta Hagen at HB Studio in New York City. She has performed in countless venues across the tri-state area including The Goodspeed Opera House, Resorts International, Bally’s and Caesar’s. Barbara’s vocal’s can be heard on CD’s such as Jordan Rudess’ Listen, Rob Silvan’s Top Banana featuring Randy Brecker, A Bock & Blu Christmas, Bock & Blu’s I Hide My Face Like This... and Still with the Music which features some of her songs. Barbara's extensive studio experience includes vocal arrangements, voice over work, and nationally televised commercials. Her compositions have won Best Original Music and Best Song in a Short Film awards at Film Festivals across the US.
Gary Blu has worked alongside Donald Fagen as assistant arranger and music copyist with The New York Rock & Soul Revue, featuring Donald Fagen, Walter Becker, Michael McDonald, Boz Scaggs, Phoebe Snow, and Chuck Jackson. From 1997 until 2007 he did the same for all of the Steely Dan tours, as well as music copyist for Steely Dan's multi Grammy winning Two Against Nature, and Everything Must Go, Donald Fagen's solo records Kamakiriad and Morph the Cat, and Walter Becker's 11 Tracks of Whack. Some of his horn arrangements can be heard on Steely Dan's CD Alive In America. He was also involved in Steely Dan's Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction. Gary also had the pleasure to work briefly alongside the late Gerry Mulligan re-arranging music for Mulligan's tentet. Gary's diverse experience also includes live performances and recordings with many local artists as well as playing tenor and baritone saxophones in ACT of CT's production of Smokey Joe's Cafe, and flute, alto saxophone, clarinet, and bass clarinet in ACT of CT's Guys & Dolls. Other endeavors include the formation of Hybrid Records, which released Bock & Blu's I Hide My Face Like This..., A Bock & Blu Christmas, and Still with the Music, and Rancho Cucamonga where Gary produces and records local singer/songwriters. His compositions have won "Best Original Music" and "Best Song in a Short Film" awards at Film Festivals across the US. During the summers of 2013, 2014, & 2015, Gary was the Laurel Music Camp Jazz Band Conductor/Director. Gary has recently renewed his interest in acting performing as Clarence Clanger in Sherman Playhouse production of Jack & The Beanstalk (Pantomime) in 2019, Leonato in Sherman JCC's production of Much Ado About Nothing.
